Recently Dr Clare Boothroyd attended a fertility conference in Europe where there were some interesting findings of fertility and IVF.

One finding was that nuts can improve sperm count.

A 14 week study that included 119 healthy and fertile men aged between 18 to 35, was performed to see if the impact of eating nuts improved sperm count. Half the participates were asked to continue eating a healthy diet, while the other half added an additional of 60 grams of nuts per day (almond, walnut and hazelnut).

The findings found that men who were adding an additional nuts to their diet, had a 16% increase in their sperm count, 6% sperm movement.

Whiles these were not infertile men, it provides further evidence that lifestyle changes can make a difference to male fertility.
