What infertility treatments are treated by robotic surgery?

Currently, a robot is being used for the treatment of an isthmocele, a scar that can sometimes occur after a caesarean section. Robotic surgery is used to correct the isthmocele.

Robotic surgery is also used to remove endometriosis. Compared with laparoscopic surgery, the robot allows surgeons to have easier access to the lower pelvis through very small incisions. Therefore the surgeon is more accurately able to remove more of the patient’s relevant endometriosis. For patients having robotic surgery to remove endometriosis means a shorter stay in hospital, less pain and a faster return to normal daily activities. This procedure is to help patients who have previously experienced miscarriages or premature births with cervical incompetence.
